The Face of Evil

This evening, many brave citizens followed the trail of one Philip Stafford, Queen Dawn's traitorous personal secretary. Stafford had narrowly managed to evade arrest by the palace guard in Castle British, managing to steal plans for Britannia's prosecution of the war against the Bane Chosen.

VirtueBaneThe traitor's trail ended on the Bane occupied Isle of Magincia at the site of partially constructed daemonic temple. There, citizens finally came face-to-face with the being behind the Bane Chosen and the Isle's corruption: VirtueBane.

The jade hued arch-daemon towered over the Britannians, dismissive of their combined might. He called them "Gnats, full of fury and self-importance." Galen Knighthawke of the Legacy of the Fallen, leader of the four successful Magincian Crusades, managed to goad VirtueBane into recklessness.

Beginnings of VirtueBane's temple.VirtueBane agreed that the stolen war plans could be won back if the citizens could defeat the 'weakest of Virtuebane's Honor Guard.' Several minutes later, the honor guard lay dead and the plans were recovered by a woman named Shumer. With his pride wounded, the arch-daemon boasted "Your blood will have a special place in the foundation of my temple!" before vanishing.

The face of Magincia's destroyer has finally been revealed, his intent for the conquest of our world seems clear. We must continue the defense of our cities from the incursions of this daemon's minions. We must show him that our Virtue is not something he can subvert.

Re-scheduled: Brialla’s Journey

EM Updates

Originally posted January 25th, 2011 by EM Elizabella on the Great Lakes EM Site:

FootprintsBrialla of the Seven Tears was the first to chart the mysterious north lands of Britannia. Brialla set out from Yew, in her humble brown monk’s robe and bare feet, to push back the dark corners of the map. Her journals are rich with illustrations and detailed descriptions of the terrain, its plants and animals, and the nomads she met along the way. She even found the mineral deposits in the mountains by what would become Minoc.

Every year, on January 28th, the people of Britannia celebrate Brialla’s journey by donning monks’ robes and walking barefoot from Yew to Minoc. There, they toast to her memory in the tavern. All are encouraged to tell whatever legends they’ve heard of Brialla’s journey or to describe their own adventures.

Meet Louisa Clark in front of Empath Abbey on Saturday, January 29th, at 8 p.m. CST. The road is likely to be unusually clear of monsters that evening, so you’ll have plenty of time to think up a good story for the tavern. The best tales will be added to the Award Hall.

The event is re-scheduled for Saturday, January 29th. I hope everyone who wanted to attend is still able to.

Whispering Winds

From the Whispering Winds Town Herald, Melody Windglade:

Location: Jollier Fairgrounds (Tram)
Day:  Saturday, Jan 8th 2011
Time: 8:00pm CST

Hear ye, Hear ye,

Gate to Lore - A Siege PerliousThe Towne of Whispering Winds invites you to a night of adventure, festivities and merriment at the Jollier Fairgrounds (Tram) located east of the Skara Brae and north of the Town of Whispering Winds. The Festival is being held to commemorate the creation of the world’s first intershardal portal, Heaven’s Gate!
The night will begin with a dangerous mission as citizens, willing to risk life and limb, join the Magincian Crusade against the armies of the vile demon, Virtue Bane.  Gates will open from the fairgrounds to the Sosarian Library to meet the main force of crusaders.

When the Magincian Crusade draws to its conclusion, the participants will return to the fairgrounds for a grand feast in their honor. The feast will consist of the finest foods from around Britannia. Knights of Compassion need not go hungry as Vegetarian options will be available!

The feast will be followed by contests of skill, games of chance and of course, Dancing!   Prizes will be awarded to both the skilled and lucky.

As the moons begin to set and the night comes to a close, the festivities will move to the Towne of Whispering Winds for the officially unveiling of Heaven’s Gate.  The magical portal is believed to be the first of its kind and will connect our world to others like it!  An expedition of Order Knights will be the first to brave the intershardal portal.  We gather to wish them well on their journey to a new land as they travel into the great unknown (or to Luna bank if the gate is a bust!)

Openings on the expedition are still available but space is limited.  Citizens interested in joining the first intershardal expedition, contact Lore Denin via pigeon [ICQ: 96629882] or seek him in person in the Town of Whispering Winds,

See you at the Fairgrounds!

Map to the Jollier Fairgrounds

[OOC]  The Festival event (food, contests, games, etc) is open to everyone but is heavily role-play themed.  The majority of the participants will be in character [IC] and for those not familiar with role-play may find things a little strange at first.  Come out, roll with the punches and have fun, Rp or not we’ll do our best to make this one heck of a farewell party.

There is no “gate” that will actually take you to another shard.  Player’s that are part of the expedition will be using transfer tokens to move to the Origin shard.  If this is something you might be interested, here is what you need to join the expedition:
1) A player have a transfer token
2) A player must have a character with views consistent with the virtue role-play of Kingdom of Lore being created on Origin.
3) Players do not need to be experienced role-players, but must be willing to learn.

For additional information contact Lore Denin [ICQ: 96629882]

Fourth Magincian Crusade

Submitted by Martyna_Zmuir on January 4, 2011 at 7:41 PM CST
Isle of Magincia

This just in from Galen Knighthawke of The Legacy of the Fallen:

As everyone knows by now, the forces of the demon lord Virtuebane has been invading our cities, one by one. His assaults have been relentless. However, thus far we have won back every city he has assaulted and attempted to occupy.

The Magincian Crusade, or at least its spirit, has spread beyond Magincia, as Virtuebane's assaults have. The spirit of our citizenry remains unparalleled, and unbroken.

Despite his unsurprising, undeniable, undisguised, and wholly unprovoked designs on the whole of our realm, the vile, Prideful, marble heart of Virtuebane remains on the island that once housed Magincia.

Thus, it is once again to Magincia Island that the Magincian Crusade now returns.

The fourth foray to Magincia Island will be this Saturday, January 8, at 9pm Eastern/8pm Central. We will meet at the Yew Moongate in Trammel, and gate out from the Library of Sosaria banner, which is south of the Moongate.

VirtueBane's General of Bloodlust, Buldur, met the Magincian Crusade the last the times. Now, Buldur is dead.

What, or who, if anything, will meet us this time remains to be seen.

The skull appears before you in a dream: “The evil and the twisted, those of nimble fingers and cold hearts, rejoice! The Warlord has returned to Sosaria to wage war on Virtue. You are the knife he has hidden in the tall grass, waiting to be used against his enemies. You have been Chosen. Make angels cry.”

Event for the evil of Sosaria. Friday, January 7th, at 8 p.m. CST, starting at the Britain Counselor Hall. Those clever with locks are particularly welcome.
